Titanium anode is one of the Dimensionally Stable Anodes(DSA), which are also called Dimensionally Stable Electrode(DSE), precious metal-coated titanium anodes(PMTA), noble metal coated anode(NMC A), oxide-coated titanium anode(OCTA), or activated titanium anode(ATA), are composed of a thin layer(a few micrometers) of mixed metal oxides such us RuO2, IrO2,Ta2O5, PbO2 on titanium metals. We supply both the MMO anodes and Platinized titanium anodes. Titanium plate and mesh are the most common shapes for it. MMO coated titanium anodes and titanium cathodes are used in various environments, including seawater, brackish water, fresh water, carbon backfill, and concrete of MMO coated.

Advantages

1. High current efficiency, good corrosion resistance, long anode life and high current density (up to 10000A/M2).

2. Energy saving: As we all know, the platinum-plated electrode is an electrode with a high overoxygen potential (1.563V, relative to mercury sulfate), while the noble metal oxide-plated titanium anode is a low oxygen evolution overpotential (relative to mercury sulfate). is 1.385V). Electrode, oxygen evolution is easier in the anode oxygen evolution zone. Therefore, during the electrolysis process, the pressure of the electrolyzer is relatively low, which saves electricity. This phenomenon is clearly reflected in the alkaline copper plating bath after copper foil treatment.

3. No pollution: Noble metal oxide coating Titanium anode coating is a ceramic oxide of noble metal iridium. This oxide is a fairly stable oxide, almost insoluble in any acid and alkali, the oxide coating is only 18-40μm, and the overall coating has a small amount of oxide. Therefore, the noble metal oxide-coated titanium anode does not contaminate the plating solution, which is basically the same as the platinum-coated electrode.

4. Cost-effective: In order to achieve the same service life as platinum-plated electrodes (coating thickness 3.5μm), the price of titanium anodes coated with noble metal oxides is about 80% of that of platinum-plated electrodes. The noble metal oxide-coated titanium anodes have good electrochemical stability in alkaline copper plating electrolytes, as well as excellent electrocatalytic activity and durability. The cost analysis of precious metal oxide-coated titanium anodes and Pt electrodes by Baoji Qixin Titanium Industry Co., Ltd. shows that the economy of noble metal oxide-coated titanium anodes is obvious.

5. In the printed circuit board industry, copper electroplating requires pulsed circulating reverse current (PPR). We know that in a sulfuric acid system containing chlorides, the platinum layer will peel off after a platinum-coated titanium anode has been operated for a period of time. However, the use of noble metal oxide-coated titanium anodes can effectively improve this phenomenon.

6. Low maintenance cost: Compared with traditional soluble electrodes (graphite and lead alloy electrodes), noble metal oxide-coated titanium anodes do not require frequent shutdowns for cleaning, replenishing anodes, and frequent replacement of anode bags and anode coatings. Increase productivity and reduce labor costs;

7. Under the same working conditions, the life of the noble metal oxide coated titanium anode depends on the working current density, temperature and bath composition.
